Record #170980:

Pleistocene ice limits in the Russian northern lowlands / Valery Astakhov.

Title: Pleistocene ice limits in the Russian northern lowlands / Valery Astakhov.
Author(s): Astakhov, Valery.
Date: 2004.
Publisher: Amsterdam: Elsevier
In: Quaternary glaciations - extent and chronology : Part I Europe. (2004.),
Abstract: Complements digital maps for Russian north, beyond limits of Fennoscandian glaciation. Derives Pleistocene glaciation limits mostly from standard geological maps and drilling projects, and Late Pleistocene limits largely from recent stratigraphical and photogeological studies. Relates Pleistocene drift limit to Don glaciation of Early Pleistocene, some 0.5-0.6 Myr BP. Samarovo glacial maximum of West Siberia still considered to be of Saalian age. Late Pleistocene ice sheets were much smaller than pre-Eemian ones. Last Glacial Maximum limit was well offshore in Barents sea, with only Putorana plateau glaciated on mainland.
