Abstract: Examines the evidence for the Kachemak Pacific Eskimo tradition, which abandoned the Kenai Peninsula between 1500 and 1000 years ago. Cultural connection with Kodiak gave rise from 1000 AD to the Koniag phase, late prehistoric ancestors of the modern Kodiak Alutiiq.
