Title: The radiological environment of Svalbard / Justin P. Gwynn, Mark Dowdall, Corine Davids, Øyvind G. Selnaes, Bjørn Lind.
Author(s): Gwynn, Justin P.
Dowdall, Mark.
Davids, Corine.
Selnaes, Øyvind G.
Lind, Bjørn.
Date: 2004.
In: Polar Research. (2004.), Vol. 23(2) (2004)
Abstract: Presents a detailed survey of the marine and terrestrial radiological environment of Svalbard, conducted 2000-2002. ⁹⁹Tc activity concentrations in seawater were 0.13 to 0.36 Bq/m³, five times higher than in 1994, reflecting the increase in discharges from Sellafield. Studies the radionuclide concentrations in brown algae, soil, vegetation and seabird colonies.
