Abstract: Reports the results of analysis of plant fragments found in fresh samples of faecal matter to determine the diets of Peary caribou and muskoxen on Banks Island, Canada. Willow (Salix arctica) and sedge found to be dominant in diets of both species. Discusses herbivore diets in relation to foraging behaviour and forage availability.
