Uprugost' polikristallicheskogo l'da / V.P. Yepifanov.

Title: Uprugost' polikristallicheskogo l'da / V.P. Yepifanov.
Translated title: Elasticity of polycrystalline ice.
Author(s): Yepifanov, V. P.
Epifanov, V. P.
Date: 2004.
Language: Finnish.
In: Materialy Gli︠a︡t︠s︡iologicheskikh Issledovaniĭ. (2004.), Vol. 96 (2004)
Abstract: Reports acoustic measurement of elasticity of samples of fresh ground ice in static state without external load (normal state) and under specific C-axis wave vector disorientation angle. Using measurements at temperatures from -0.25 to -40°C, calculates dislocation net parameters and activation energy. Shows elasticity of ice in elasticity zone of load curve is highly correlated with both reversible shift of crystal nodes and Stokes absorption. On mesolevel caused by reversible shift of dislocation loop (Lc) segments, viscous absorption and dispersion of acoustic energy of external source (up to 79%) on intercrystallic surfaces. Shows attenuation depends in different degree on both regular diffusion and coherent dispersion depending on wave vector direction. Estimates viscosity anisotropy at about 300% and elastic anisotropy at only 2%. Paper presented at Glaciological Symposium "Future of glaciosphere under changing climate", 17-21 May 2002, Pushchino.
