Abstract: Estimates relative contributions made by meltwater from Antarctica and the northern ice sheets to documented sea level rises occurring between 65,000 and 35,000 years ago. Using marine δ¹⁸O as tracer for input of isotopically light high-latitude meltwater in 3-D ocean/atmosphere/sea-ice model C-GOLDSTEIN assesses origins of meltwater pulses that caused sea level rises associated with four Antarctic warming events. Validates model simulations with foraminiferal δ¹⁸O records from sediment cores. Infers similar meltwater contributions from two polar regions, approximately equivalent to 15 m sea level rise and comparable to that inferred previously for Antarctic contribution to meltwater pulse 1A, occurring 14,200 years ago during last deglaciation.
