Tor et roches moutonnées en Laponie Suédoise: antagonisme ou filiation / Marie-Françoise André.

Title: Tor et roches moutonnées en Laponie Suédoise: antagonisme ou filiation / Marie-Françoise André.
Translated title: Tor-like features and roches moutonnées in Swedish Lappland: antagonistic or affiliated landforms?.
Author(s): André, Marie-Françoise.
Date: 2003.
Language: French.
In: Géographie Physique et Quaternaire. (2003.), Vol. 55(3) (2003)
Abstract: Examines fifteen tor-like features on Aurivaara Plateau unevenly modified by Scandinavian ice sheet. Questions view that presence of roches moutonnées/tor-like features can reliably distinguish scoured/non-scoured zones. Analyzes local small scale landforms and glacial deposits (morphometry, lithology, grain size, weathering stages, etc.) and compares with previous observations on nearby Late Weichselian roches moutonnées from Norwegian Lapland. Concludes; Aurivaara tor-like features are probably pre-Quaternary; glacial regime was probably cold-based; tor-like features are valuable indicators of weak overall Quaternary erosion on tabular interfluves such as Aurivaara Plateau; continuum from well-preserved tors to ice-profiled roches moutonnées remains partly unexplained dynamically.
