Abstract: Presents design for waterproofing and heat insulation of Kunlunshan tunnel, which runs 1686 m through permafrost on Tibetan plateau. Specifies materials used; PVC and polyurethane for waterproof plates and non-woven cloth for heat insulation, and adhesives. Describes nail-less construction method using thermo-welding of double seams for waterproof plates and TN-1 polyurethane adhesive to join heat insulation plates. Presents data on performance of OP resin emulsion for sticking waterproof plates to concrete support lining.
