Abstract: Some claim that Cold War started in early 1946 in Canadian North, when Exercise Musk Ox sent 50 men in Snowmobiles 3000 miles from Churchill to Edmonton via Cambridge Bay and Mackenzie River. Operation involved thousands from Army and Air Force and large proportion of reporters and photographers. Operation was written up by these to show dangerous proximity of Soviets over North Pole.
