Water surface waves induced by calving events at Perito Moreno Glacier, southern Patagonia / Y. Iizuka, S. Kobayashi, R. Naruse.

Title: Water surface waves induced by calving events at Perito Moreno Glacier, southern Patagonia / Y. Iizuka, S. Kobayashi, R. Naruse.

Date: 2004.
In: Bulletin of Glaciological Research. (2004.), Vol. 21 (2004)
Abstract: Investigates water surface waves induced by calving of Perito Moreno glacier, southern Patagonia, into proglacial lake Brazo Rico. Presents water pressure gauge observations totalling 16 hours over 12 days in December 1999. Describes recording details, discusses frequency of calving events and presents spectral analysis of waves for each calving event. Waves commonly have an initial peak. Frequency of peak amplitude may correspond to that of surface seiche in lake. Observes no clear link between air temperature and daily number of calving events.
