Abstract: Freeze cores from three tidewater lakes were examined. Massive sediments were overlain by organic rich, finely laminated section up to surface. In Ogac Lake, light layers were mainly intact diatom frustules, while darker layers were dominated by clay and silt sized mineral grains. Sedimentation rate based on ²¹⁰Pb dates agrees well with that from lamination counts.
