| Abstract: | Addresses calculation of global ice loadings and maximum ice pressures on offshore structures in Sea of Okhotsk. Reports experimental studies of compressive strength of ice in constrained cross-section deformation. Uses natural lake-ice samples from level ice cover and middle consolidated part of ice hummock. Compares results of tests involving constraint by metal casing and indentation by metal stamp. Calculates maximum local pressure arising from interaction between rigid structure and ice cover. |
