Record #166820:

Experimental study of snow effect on sea ice growth and melt processes / Shinsuke Kojima, Hiroyuki Enomoto.

Title: Experimental study of snow effect on sea ice growth and melt processes / Shinsuke Kojima, Hiroyuki Enomoto.
Author(s): Kojima, Shinsuke.
Enomoto, Hiroyuki.
Date: 2003.
Publisher: Mombetsu: Okhotsk Sea & Cold Ocean Research Association
In: Proceedings of the 18th International Symposium on Okhotsk Sea and Sea Ice, Mombetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, 23-27 February 2003. (2003.),
Abstract: Describes tank experiments to investigate freezing and melting rates of sea ice under various conditions. Investigates effects of water flow beneath ice and deposition of snow. Presents observations of temperature-depth profiles and changes in sea ice and snow properties (e.g., salinity) obtained over periods up to 150 hours.
Notes:

In: Proceedings of the 18th International Symposium on Okhotsk Sea and Sea Ice, Mombetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, 23-27 February 2003 / Okhotsk Sea & Cold Ocean Research Association.
