| Abstract: | Presents studies of electrical and elastic properties of frozen sandy-clayey soils saturated with solutions of various ionic compositions and concentrations. Presents measurements of elastic wave velocity, Poisson's ratio, Young's and shear moduli, dielectric permittivity and resistivity and their dependences on solution composition and salinity. Estimates critical initial concentrations of pore solution, at which frozen soils may be considered distinct from non-saline ones, for various members of the sand-clay series. |
