| Abstract: | Compares records over last 160 kyr of δ¹⁸O, Ca²⁺, SO₄²⁻ and NO₃⁻ in 2503-m deep ice core from Dome Fuji, Antarctica with δ¹⁸O record in GRIP core, from Summit, Greenland. Focuses on Wisconsin period interstadials and Eemian interglacial observed in GRIP δ¹⁸O record, seeking analogues in Dome Fuji core for these and also for Dansgaard-Oeschger oscillation and rapid changes during Eemian. Finds eight records of interstadials in Dome Fuji δ¹⁸O record and eleven in Dome Fuji chemistry record corresponding to interstadials in GRIP record. Eemian appears much shorter and more stable at Dome Fuji than at GRIP and Younger Dryas event is not easily recognised.
