| Abstract: | Reviews evidence relating to Late Weichselian behaviour of Low Baltic ice stream in southernmost Sweden. Incorporates new field observations and ice marginal dates from study area that includes Skåne province, Swedish west coast and Baltic Sea south of Sweden. Describes form, dating and interpretation of deposits and landforms related to ice stream's readvance, retreat and maximum extent. Reports evidence for till transport from Baltic area up to 700 km away. Compares ice stream's dynamics with those of modern and paleo- ice streams, proposing ice motion on subglacial bed of deformable sediments, with shut-down a result of sediment exhaustion around 14,600 years BP when first large stage of Baltic Ice Lake formed. |
