| Abstract: | Reports distributions of Cl⁻, Na⁺, SO₄²⁻, NO₃⁻ and Be concentrations in snow cover during the austral summer and winter seasons in east Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica. Describes snow sampling along route from coast at S16 to Dome Fuji, 1000 km inland. Discusses distribution of various species, noting exponential decrease of Cl⁻ and Na⁺ concentrations with distance from coast over first 200 km. Finds that a source of Cl⁻ other than sea salt supplies inland Antarctic plateau. |
