| Abstract: | Uses pairs of Landsat TM images to map ice velocities of Prestrud Inlet and Sulzberger Ice Shelf in West Antarctica for period 1986-1989. Describes use of image-to-image cross correlation technique to derive surface velocity measurements (over 2000 in both cases). Constructs recent history of ice flow and evolution in the two ice shelf areas, concluding that they are stable and constant in flux and may have been so for last few centuries. |
