On the shape of refecting surfaces investigated by a 60 MHz radar / C. Bianchi, U. Sciacca, E. Tabacco, A. Zirizzotti, E. Zuccherettit.
Title: | On the shape of refecting surfaces investigated by a 60 MHz radar / C. Bianchi, U. Sciacca, E. Tabacco, A. Zirizzotti, E. Zuccherettit. |
Author(s): | Bianchi, C. Sciacca, U. Tabacco, E. Zirizzotti, A. Zuccherettit, E. |
Date: | 2003. |
In: | International Journal of Remote Sensing. (2003.), Vol. 24(15) (2003) |
Abstract: | Describes radio echo sounding (RES) system used to study Drygalski ice tongue, Antarctica. Presents analysis of amplitude of received signals and discusses results of actual measurements. Presents model of reflecting surface and compares forecasts from it with experimental results. Concludes that, under certain conditions, amplitude variations arise mainly from focusing or defocusing effects determined by reflector shape. |
