| Abstract: | Details 2001 survey of Italian glaciers. Summarises observations for each of three sectors: Piemonte-Val D'Aosta, Lombardia and Tre Venezie, indicating advance/retreat, trends in equilibrium line altitude, mass balance, etc. Approximately 70% of glaciers in each area were retreating. Presents analysis of meteorological conditions in Italian Alps during hydrological year 2000-2001. Lists key observations for each of 161 glaciers in turn, providing brief descriptions (in Italian) and photographs for many. |
