| Abstract: | Reports glacier variations recorded over periods 1930-1960, 1960-1990 and 2000-2001. In 2001, variations were recorded at 50 locations. One terminus advanced, 5 were stationary and 43 retreated. Summarises regional temperature, precipitation and mass balance variations. Presents summer and winter mass balances and equilibrium line altitudes recorded on three glaciers (Sátujökull, Thjórsárjökull and Blágnípujökull) during 1987-2001. |
