Record #166485:

The Greenland ice sheet: a global warming signal? / Edward Hanna, Roger Braithwaite.

Title: The Greenland ice sheet: a global warming signal? / Edward Hanna, Roger Braithwaite.
Author(s): Hanna, Edward.
Braithwaite, Roger.
Date: 2003.
In: Weather. (2003.), Vol. 58(9) (2003)
Abstract: Briefly reviews current knowledge of mass balance of Greenland Ice Sheet. Lists factors influencing it and methods of measuring it. Describes use of observations and medium range weather forecasts in modelling surface mass balance and comparisons with ice core records. Discusses difficulties in differentiating contributions to observed surface-elevation changes from surface mass balance and ice dynamics and in identifying any signal attributable to anthropogenic climate change. Anticipates future satellite-based improvements in observation of ice sheet elevation.
