| Abstract: | Examines response of Antarctic benthic community to disturbance using underwater photographs from southeastern Weddell Sea shelf. Includes characteristics of coverage and abundance of sessile benthic fauna; description of faunal heterogeneity using ordination techniques, and identification of structural species of each successional stage; analysis of changes of growth-form patterns; and life-history traits of structural species in relation to differences in distribution during succession. Also published in Marine Ecology Progress Series. |
