| Abstract: | Report of workshop in Annapolis, 10-14 June 2001, to establish strategy for ISMASS project on understanding and predicting Antarctic ice sheet mass balance. Includes recommendations relating to model comparison; and recommendations for future research on surface elevation change maps and observation and modelling of current changes; surface mass balance; mass output with particular reference to ice dynamics, fluxes, melt/freeze, and calving; areas requiring increased attention in Amundsen Sea Embayment, Antarctic Peninsula and coastal Antarctica; and need for improved observation of factors affecting de-glaciation. |
