| Abstract: | Explores influences of bedrock characteristics and till texture on genesis of Saadjärve drumlin field in eastern Estonia, evaluating it as possible indicator of a past ice stream. Treats drumlin formation as ice/bed interface problem, focusing on pore-water pressure and texture as elements controlling strength of soft subglacial material. Relates drumlin forms to variation of these elements, emphasizing significance of local conditions for subglacial landform generation. Concludes drumlin field formed by small ice stream. In special issue Palaeo-ice streams. |
