Title: The origin and age of "huge alluvial fans" in the eastern part of the Warsaw-Berlin Pradolina / Zbigniew Klajnert, Elzbieta Kobojek.
Author(s): Klajnert, Zbigniew.
Kobojek, Elzbieta.
Date: 2002[pub. 2003]
In: Quaestiones Geographicae. (2002[pub. 2003]), Vol. 22 (2002[pub. 2003])
Abstract: Discusses development of relief and geology of extensive area referred to in literature as "a zone of alluvial fans", stretching below northern edges of Rawa Interfluve and Łódź Upland. Notes disagreement regarding fan zone's age. Discusses impact of areal deglaciation of Warthe stage ice sheet on fan zone formation, Eemian deposits and Vistulian, periglacial elements within zone. Concludes zone is polygenetic surface initiated during decay of Warthe stage ice sheet but finds no evidence of widespread and intense periglacial denudation which could have been responsible for zone's development.
