Record #165724:

South dials north / Thomas F. Stocker.

Title: South dials north / Thomas F. Stocker.
Author(s): Stocker, Thomas F.
Date: 2003.
In: Nature. (2003.), Vol. 424(6948) (2003)
Abstract: Discusses paper by Knorr and Lohmann in same issue examining Southern Ocean origin for resumption of Atlantic thermohaline circulation (THC) during deglaciation. Briefly describes interglacial North Atlantic 'conveyor belt' THC and puts study in context of 'seesaw' model of overall transition from glacial to interglacial conditions. Points out limitations arising from study's neglect of atmospheric dynamics.
