Abstract: In summer of 1890 author visited northern Alaska and established schools for Arctic Eskimo at three settlements, then went by US Revenue Bear cruising Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean. He reported on destitution of Alaskan Eskimo, and possibility of introducing reindeer herding. Following delays in any action by authorities, he appealed through newspapers and was directed to continue work of transplanting domesticated reindeer from Siberia. Report describes nature of Siberians and work undertaken.
