Abstract: Survey with Kenaston in summer 1891 using instruments supplied by US Geological Survey; perpendicular height of falls determined as 316 feet although descent through earlier series of slopes makes entire fall 500 feet. Article on expedition by M. Harvey in New York Tribune states that first white man to reach Grand Falls was John McLean of Hudson's Bay Company in 1839.
