Abstract: Report dated 29 June confirms Hekla anchored at 71° N. near Jan Mayen, which is surrounded by heavy pack ice which extends far to south and makes navigation of Arctic Sea very difficult. East coast of Greenland unapproachable; intended to make for coast between 73° and 76 N. where seal hunters report ice less dense.
