| Abstract: | Letter from President of Joint Committee of Councils of Royal Society of Victoria and Victorian Branch of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia to Sir Erasmus Ommanney, Secretary of Antarctic Committee of the British Association, urging English government financial support for national expedition for further exploration of Antarctic regions. Committee had confirmed that, due to ice conditions south of 55° S., no unrecorded exploratory work by whalers and sealers south of 60° S. recorded since Ross.
