| Abstract: | Account to Geographical Society of Berlin of zoological voyage late April-3 September 1886 from Tromsö to Spitsbergen to catch white whales. Due to ice in Spitsbergen waters until late June, hunted Hyperoodon rostratus which occur only between Spitsbergen and East Greenland. General description of interior of Spitsbergen; description of visit to Nordenskiöld's 1872 winter quarters, interior of which had been wrecked by 18 sailors who wintered there 1872-73 and died of scurvy. |
