Abstract: On way to Mount St Elias party discovered previously-unknown river, then named Jones River, three glaciers (named after Professors Agassiz, Guyot and Tyndall) at bases of the St Elias Alps, and three peaks up to 12,000 feet high then named after President Cleveland, Mr Secretary Whitney, and Captain Nicholls.
