Abstract: Neptune (Lieutenant Beebe) taking supplies to Greely in Lady Franklin Bay; unable to get beyond 79° 20′ N., stopped by ice barrier across Smith Sound and anchored in Pandora Harbour. Nearby found record by Sir Allen Young washed down from cairn, record left by Sir George Nares on Brevoort Island, and small depot of provisions from Discovery on neighbouring island. Sailed before winter set in, leaving food caches on Cape Sabine and Lyttelton Island, and whale-boat on Cape Isabella.
