| Abstract: | Report to Geographical Society of Berlin meeting held on 7 May 1882 on difficulties of Executive Committee of German Polar Commission in obtaining promised funds from German government and finding suitable vessel. Delay enabled selection of best observation stations by other nations; Cumberland Sound station, with branch station on Labrador coast, being along the line of the minimum of depression, decided upon. Lists observatories surrounding North Pole and mentions those at South Georgia and Cape Horn. |
