Abstract: Unconfirmed report from St Petersburg newspaper correspondent giving brief outline by survivor of voyage until Jeannette became ice-bound and abandoned; no news of second boat, nor of De Long and other survivors of first boat, who landed at northern mouth of Lena. Letter received from Admiralty stating that in view of present news, no rescue operation will be launched.
