Abstract: Reports from Norwegian walrus-hunters indicate that in summer southern edge of ice, of no great thickness, extended from Finnmark and nearer to northern coast of Norway than normally; climatic conditions to north and south of ice belt differed considerably during winter, with probable ice-free areas to Franz Josef Land.
