In: Emu. (2002.), Vol. 102(4) (2002)
Abstract: Describes rigorous analytical procedures for appraising how Diomedea exulans gibsoni use weather systems to achieve long-distance flights, based on study of movements of two wandering albatrosses in Tasman Sea. No flight could be explained as passive response to wind, as all flights revealed intent to fly in given direction for several hundred kilometres, even through complex weather systems.
