Abstract: Ski apparatus from Farm Under Sand seems to be typical of that used by Saami reindeer herders, with patterns like those on magic drum. Landnámabók has plenty of evidence that settlers of Iceland, and so of Greenland, had Saami blood, and tame reindeer occur in several Greenlandic stories.
