Abstract: Linguist Annika Jansson set question at Östersund in March. North Saami is doing well, but minor languages are not. Sample of 14 North Saami was chosen to test importance of reindeer herding in preservation of language. Article concentrates on roles of parents, but full research will be published as English (later Swedish and North Saami) book.
