Abstract: | Shortened, pilot version of later work, "Nord-Norge fra allmenning til koloni", designed for instruction in Agricultural College. Population concerned was c. 340 000 in 1950, 80% outside towns, heavily engaged in farming and fishing. Lively discussion of different theories of causes of, and attitudes to, migration among individuals, communities, governments and theorists. North Norwegians', like Bongo-Bongoans', attitudes are not meteorological data, to be taken from any reputable source, such as chief or medicine man. |
