Abstract: Project aims to study impact of nomadic pasture use and climate change on watershed biodiversity and permafrost of the taiga forest and steppe of northern Mongolia over five years. Seeks to define distribution and temperature of permafrost and depth of active layer, with monitoring of soil and permafrost temperatures in valleys surrounding Lake Hövsgöl, and outlines methods and future plans.
