Record #163575:

Laestadiansmen i det moderne samfunn / Roald Bolle.

Title: Laestadiansmen i det moderne samfunn / Roald Bolle.
Translated title: Laestadianism (L) in the modern community.
Author(s): Bolle, Roald.
Date: 2000.
Publisher: Tromsø, Norway: UiT
Language: Norwegian.
In: Vekkelse og vitenskap. Lars Levi Laestadius 200 år. (2000.),
Abstract: Many have prophesied L's demise, but it is still lively, with dominant element of young people. Reason is best seen in its reality of living Christianity, known, tasted and experienced. Scripture is used to support author's assessments of relevance of L to forgiveness of sins, Jesus Christ as the one foundation, life sustaining nature of (Lutheran) Church, and defence of scriptural morality - hating sin but loving sinner - e.g. homophile by nature may be God's child and L. Problems arise over State schools, often more and more worldly. Conversely, teachers who are Ls may have problems in such schools. Other current topics are science and its moral conundra in medicine, politics, oecumenics of soggy "niceness" - places where L, like others, must try to keep hands clean and to discern God's will.
