Siebe - etterkrigstid og marginalitet i grenseland / Odd Mathis Haetta.

Title: Siebe - etterkrigstid og marginalitet i grenseland / Odd Mathis Haetta.
Translated title: Siebe - postwar period and marginality in the borderland.
Author(s): Haetta, Odd Mathis.
Date: 2003.
Language: Norwegian.
In: Tromsø Museums Skrifter. (2003.), XXX (2003)
Abstract: Siebe is little settlement in Kautokeino municipality on Siebejohka of Alta water catchment and on major all year through routes. Author's family came from there. Much wild life in three elements. It has considerable travel literature. Bratrein called it "most Kven village I have seen" because of its main trading links and use of Finnish. Article describes effects of its border position, yearly cycle, ice fishing with juniper hooks (to eat burbot indicates low status), and August days in 1959 and 1989. Author used to help with haymaking every year. He describes drastic depopulation in that time, though some Saami culture survived, unlike in most parts.
