Record #163370:
Ice thickness measurements on the Southern Patagonia icefield / Andrés Rivera, Gino Casassa.
Title: | Ice thickness measurements on the Southern Patagonia icefield / Andrés Rivera, Gino Casassa. |
Author(s): | Rivera, Andrés. Casassa, Gino. |
Date: | 2002. |
Publisher: | New York: Kluwer Academic/Plenum |
In: | Patagonian icefields : a unique natural laboratory for environmental and climate change studies. (2002.), |
Abstract: | Complex subglacial topography and internal reflection patterns were revealed by radio-echo sounding of ice thickness on Southern Patagonia icefield. Two GPS receivers allowed precise positioning of each point. Recommends improvements to range, and better interpretation of internal structure of ice. |
Notes: | In: The Patagonian icefields : a unique natural laboratory for environmental and climate change studies / Gino Casassa, Francisco V. Sepúlveda, Rolf M. Sinclair, eds. |
Keywords: | 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.324 -- Land ice. 551.324.3 -- Land ice, depth measurements. E5 -- Glaciology: land ice. (82) -- Argentina. (83) -- Chile. |
