Abstract: Abisko mountains are comparable to Cairngorms and Czech Giant (Krkonoše) Mountains in terms of geology, geomorphology, ecology and high importance for conservation. Managements suffer from comparable pressures from human use, deforestation, pasturing, recreation and atmospheric pollution. Sensitivity "matrices" (tables) for all three ranges are drawn up classifying topographic features (different in several cases) against extreme weather, global warming, pollution, grazing, built developments and human trampling. Czech case also has categories of deforestation and invading plants.
