Record #162710:

Modelling rock avalanches and their relation to permafrost degradation in glacial environments / Giannantonio Bottino, Marta Chiarle, André Joly, Giovanni Mortara.

Title: Modelling rock avalanches and their relation to permafrost degradation in glacial environments / Giannantonio Bottino, Marta Chiarle, André Joly, Giovanni Mortara.
Author(s): Bottino, Giannantonio.
Chiarle, Marta.
Joly, André.
Mortara, Giovanni.
Date: 2002.
In: Permafrost and Periglacial Processes. (2002.), Vol. 13(4) (2002)
Abstract: Models behaviour of large rock-falls on to glaciers, using landslide models adapted to account for low sliding friction on glacier ice and huge volumes involved. Finds Evans and Clague (1988) empirical model best fitted cases from Aosta Valley, Italy, though with calculated runouts overestimated.
Notes:
