Record #162142:

Snow and snow ice in sea ice thermodynamic modeling / Tuomo M. Saloranta.

Title: Snow and snow ice in sea ice thermodynamic modeling / Tuomo M. Saloranta.
Author(s): Saloranta, Tuomo M.
Date: 1998.
In: University of Helsinki. Department of Geophysics. Report Series in Geophysics. (1998.), Vol. 39 (1998)
Abstract: Develops one-dimensional numerical thermodynamic model for sea ice (snow influenced numerical (SIN) model) testing effects of snow on evolution of sea-ice thickness, particularly formation of slush and snow ice and snowpack evolution and metamorphism. Compared against long-term observations in Baltic Sea, results showed good consistency, with total ice and snow ice thickness, together with whole melting season, well reproduced.
