Зарождение и рост кристаллов льда на поверхности водоемов
Title: | Зарождение и рост кристаллов льда на поверхности водоемов |
Title, transliterated: | Zarozhdenie i rost kristallov lʹda na poverkhnosti vodoemov / V.N. Golubev. |
Translated title: | Origin and propagation of ice crystals on a surface of water reservoirs. |
Author(s): | Golubev, V. N. |
Date: | 2002. |
Language: | Russian. |
In: | Materialy Gli︠a︡t︠s︡iologicheskikh Issledovaniĭ. (2002.), Vol. 92 (2002) |
Abstract: | Discusses formation of ice on surface of water, finding condition of surface, whether calm or rough, together with hydrometeorological conditions, influences appearance and growth of ice crystals. Particles from atmosphere or soil become centres of crystallization. When supercooling of surface layer of water exceeds 0.1°C, formation of ice dendrites and needles is possible. Ice crust forms within 10⁴ s under radiate cooling. The ice formed on centres of crystallization when air temperature is low comes from condensation evaporated from vapour on surface of water. Defines three main types of ice-layer surface structure according to cooling, condition of water surface and source of crystallization centres. |
