Glacial landsystems / David J.A. Evans, ed.

Title: Glacial landsystems / David J.A. Evans, ed.
Author(s): Evans, David J. A.,
Date: 2003.
Publisher: London: Arnold
Abstract: Seventeen chapters by various authors introduce glacial landsystems concept and provide examples or templates pertinent to both modern and ancient glacier systems on a range of scales. Seven chapters describe ice-marginal terrestrial landsystems associated with, e.g., temperate glaciers, sub-polar glaciers, Svalbard polythermal glaciers and Laurentide and Scandinavian continental ice sheets. Three chapters describe sub-aquatic landsytems of, respectively, continental margins, fjords and large proglacial lakes. Remaining chapters describe supraglacial landsystems in lowland terrain, paraglacial landsystems and landsystems associated with palaeo-ice streams, surging glaciers, glaciated valleys and plateau icefields.
